A covey of quails live in my yard. The small flock wakes early, and in spring, the female travels with a peeping tail of fluffy chicks from bush to bush in search of breakfast. I watch them from my window, and admire their style. They walk with their crest plumes held high- with apparent poise and pride. Males, females, and chicks care for each other and move in orderly chaotic spurts. In this piece I wanted to capture both the independence and dependence the birds seem to exude, and the unique beauty of both the male and the female of the species.
The giclee prints come mounted on foam core and ready to hang. Because these pieces are so light and manageable, all you need is a single nail for each piece, a hammer, and a bit of wall space to add these to your life. If you prefer framing the works, it is of note that the 12x16 and 18x24 sized are standard frame sizes.
